EULYNX Testing is important part in building interoperability
Relesoft started EULYNX related development after being awarded by FTIA to deliver Gateway to connect 55 legacy interlocking via signalling network to Siemens´ VICOS Traffic Control System (TCS). In this development we faced a challenge there is no existing services for EULYNX testing. This is understandable as the EULYNX as a project is relatively new. We decided to do something about the issue.
While writing this post, we have launched the MVP (minimum viable product) of test facility not only enabling to test EULYNX products, but having also parts to simulate and test ETCS traffic. This is awesome! Plenty of good architecture, planning work and quality code. Relesoft team has unique skills in building quality software fast and keep high quality. This is naturally systematically strucutred on top of ISO9001 quality management system. We got our certificate in February scoped with title: "Software design and system development for railway sector".
Back to the testing system. Object controller certification tests can be found from www.eulynx.eu basecamp. If you want to have them, you can also contact info@relesoft.io. We can share you the documents. We have now database for official test sequences and editor to make own tests or enhance debugging. Simplist way to test is to contact us via IP address and run test during the development process. We have simulated or real physical track side object for you to command. This provides concrete setup for development team to test their solution against and get immediate feed back from the system.
Test before going to the field. This might sound funny guidance. But we have seen also other kind of examples taken place. When using EULYNX, open standard protocol, testing is more essential than using proprietary protocols or one vendor systems. There is some extra work, but everyone understands that the award and value is in the longer run. The value of quality procurement, good planning and interoperability comes in high reward during the signalling system life cycle. To all railway colleagues out there - Be smart and work hard!
